Professor Bollen installed nearly 12.000 implants in his carreer: 10.000 titanium implants and 2.000 zirconia implants.
He is meanwhile an European authority in this field. He worked with over 60 different dental implant systems during his carreer.

LPRF
Professor Bollen was een early adopter of the concntrated growth factors concept. He worked for years with PRP; nowadays he is only using L-PRF for several oral applications (bone regeneration, perio-regeneration, ceramic dental implants, FDOJ/NICO therapy, and plastic periodontal surgery.
Lasers & Ozone
Since 2000, professor Bollen used lasers and ozone in his work for disinfection. These equipment was applied for periodontal infections and for the therapy of FDOJ/NICO’s. As laser equipment, different types were used: Nd-YAG laser, Diode laser, and photodynamic therapy.
Halitosis
Since 1996, professor Bollen is involved in bad breath (halitosis) research and therapy. He was fomerly in charge of several academic halitosis clinics (e.g. Leuven and Liège (Belgium) and Düsseldorf (Germany). He publish several scientific articles and books on this topic.
